Summer Mode

Well, finals are over.

Another day at 104*F.

I've finally started reading Nan Dibble's fanfiction. Currently addicted.

Summer quarter starts next week.

Philosophy.
Poli-Sci.
History 1900 - present.

The rents have left for a week long vacation on the boat in the delta.

They took all the food. They did leave money though. I'm going to join them from next Thursday to Saturday.

If I'm lucky it'll be 5-10 degrees cooler in the delta than here.

I'm going to spend the whole time swimming, eating, reading, and playing cards. I think I'll enjoy it very much.

Was watching this "1988" special on VH1 for a while. They talked about Depeche Mode. They were all "What does depeche mode mean, any? It's a mode. Like, I'm feeling depeche now."

Stupid bints. Couldn't bother to pick up a bloody French dictionary.

I can forgive the "I Love the '80s" commentators for their lack of DM knowledge if only because the show usually fookin' rawks!

See, I wondered. Because when I took french in HS, I learned "depeche" meant fast or speed. When I checked in my french dictionary before typing this entry, I also got the meanings dispatch, kill, and hurry / make haste.

i somehow found myself in a conversation last night with my coworker's boyfriend. he's a late depeche fan--violator thru ultra or whatever the hell the last album was called. i'm an early depeche fan--speak & spell thru violator. we did a collective *guh--that was fantastic* over martin gore's solo album...which i think came out in '89. HIGHTLY recommended for any fan.

I got that way about two weeks ago with a guy I met in line at the mall who liked Lord of the Rings. I love meeting fellow fans-- of any topic.

I'll keep it in mind. I'm not that versed on Depeche Mode, mostly it's just the more recent stuff or the stuff that gets played as occasional 80s repeats on rock stations. Good too hear, though.
