1. Holly has begun Nemesis, a sequel to her sexy Season-3 fic Cupidity.

You bet I'm reading it. You all should too.

2. [livejournal.com profile] sassangel started her first S/B fantasty AU, Eye of the Beholder. Fuck if I don't adore it. Damn her and [livejournal.com profile] nautibitz, making me start to like that genre again. It helps that their fics don't read like a bad teen movie, but rather a more interesting teen novel.

Oh, goodie! I didn't even know she was going to write a sequel to that.

She updated it on Crumbling Walls. I hadn't thoguth about it for a while until then. I feel a bit guilty though, I'm still only half-way through Vinum.

Thanks hun! I really find it a huge compliment that you see this as more of a novel type association. That is exactly what I was trying for.

I think the difference would be that Naughti and I can look at the teen perspective from a bit farther away. As I recall, most 18 year olds are not vapid twits. There is generally more going on behind the scenes. And yes, you got it spot on with the Wishverse Buffy reference. I liked her and always wanted to write something about that side of the Slayer...just had to make her human to do it. So glad you're enjoying my take on the AU scene.

Well, I went through a short phase where I read about 50 cheap teen romance novels that were so cheesy I can't believe it when zI think about it now. Yours reminded me of the better teen stories, the ones that weren't really in a series but just single books, and therefore don't have to give into formula. And I'm basing this assumption mostly on the prologue. Because the prologue intrigues me.

And yes, you got it spot on with the Wishverse Buffy reference. I liked her and always wanted to write something about that side of the Slayer..

That's the form of Buffy I got in one of the personality quizes. I think I was annoyed that day; I took it another time and got Joan.

As I recall, most 18 year olds are not vapid twits.

I never felt like one. And the girls I didn't like didn't seem like vapid twits either-- they were just rude and superficial. There were cheerleaders in my Enlglish honors classes, so true vapidness can't really come from that label. Though they did pretend to be stupid. I really hated that, it was worse than them actually being stupid.

Now, go write! And when you're not writing, read Holly's Cupidity and Nemesis. It's hot.
