Jul. 12th, 2003 01:34 amI'm currently in a deadlocked cycle with my computer.
I'm using the Semagic LJ thing, and was typing my entry. I wrote a short fanfic. I was using the spellchecker when I got a windo popped up that said
"This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem."
So I did. But it didn't activate a program, it just made my Start menu pop up. Which, of course, tells me nothing. So I went to the TaskManager and closed all other programs except the Semagic one. It's not helping.
I can't get this error window to go away, because it keeps popping up. And I can't post my entry. And I can't highlight and copy the text in my entry, so that's lost too. I'm unbelievably incensed right now. It was a DECENT FUCKING FIC. Not an award-winner, but something I was pleased with. Almost entirely gone now, except what I can remember and what I can see in this portion of the window, which I wrote down by hand. But the only thing left to do is to turn off my computer and start over. Which will, unfortunately, make me lose my data.
Furious.

EDIT: 2:10 AM. I seem to have fixed it. Apparently you can hit ALT----TAB and that returns you to your previous operating process. I found that out after strenuous scouring of Microsoft Help windows. So I did, and it took me to the spell-check window I had been using. I finished the spell-check, and it took me back to my text window.
I think what happened was that while using the spell-checker I had accidentally clicked on some other Semagic button, which conflicted with the Spell-check.
But I did get to save my data, at least. I'll put it up soon.
