So what do you do if you say something in a forum thread, and when you come back someone has replied and they say the exact same thing you do? But it's weird-- because they use the same words that you do, only just slightly changed, but the order of the sentences and topics is exactly the same, as if they went through your response line by line and plaigarized it but changed the conjunctions to make it look not quite right.

Is it a crime to plagarize someone's opinions on a web forum?

Why couldn't they just say they agree with me? Or try to add to it? Do they have to use my words, state my opinion in near-perfect replica, and have the balls to do just beneath my message?

It seems tacky, but not quite something I should complain about. I mean, how would I complain about it?

"You, you're being a tacky stupid-head and repeating everything I say like its your idea! Stop it and go stand in the corner!"

Yeah, right. He's probably 12 and would start crying.

---

For example:

(RASHAKA)
Harry has never shown a propensity for nicknaming anyone, not in 5 books, nor has Luna.

(STUPID-HEAD)
Neither of them has shown much of a propensity for nicknaming.

See! SEE! That's just weird. And the whole two paragraphs are like that!

Weird. I've never heard of someone doing that before. That sounds just downright creepy.

It's kind of surprising. If we were all standing in a circle talking, everyone woul be giving him(?) weird looks for repeating me. Leaves me kinda baffled. And feeling like Tim Allen in Galaxy Quest having to listen to Sigourney Weaver repeat everything he says, for the computer.

I can understand you not wanting to confront him because you wouldn't know exactly what to say but I'd love to hear what he'd have to say for himself if you called him out on it.

calling him out... sounds fun..

Yeah, I'd love to hear it too. But I think this first time I'll let it go.

I added an example to my post, if you want to know what I mean.

I'm glad you posted an example. Yeah, that *is* weird. Especially since he also used the word: "propensity" which isn't exactly a word I hear all the time.

I know. That's what made me notice it at first, because I used the word propensity deliberately because it has a fairly specific meaning. And then I reread mine and his, and there's a bunch like that where words and/or sentence structure/style is the same. freak-y.

Doubt the "stupid-head" even knows what it means...
