"Everyone you ever meet from out of state will be insanely jealous of you. Thus, in order to keep up your pride as a resident of this beautiful land, you must hereby mock each person you meet, fellow American or foreigner, who does not live here. You must remind them of how often it is sunny, of our gorgeous trees that are the tallest on earth, of our mountains and beaches and influencial history in the rock music movement. If they ask about cost of living, throw out a number about price of wine; that should shut them up."
Ah yeah, the Golden State where everything is just peachy...no, wait, that was Georgia. My mistake.
Been there, cruised it, loved some parts-- San Francisco, Carmel-by-the-Sea where I met a friend, Santa Barbara, L.A.-- but abhorred others-- Fresno comes to mind... I'm actually planning on living in SF for some time...even though it's pretty darn cold there. (That's probably why it felt like home. & ;-)
That's one of my favorite places! I adore Carmel. It's so cute. Did you by any chance have tea & scones in The Tuckbox while you were there? They have great scones.
Then again, I kinda overdosed on scones during my year in London. & ;-)
Carmel is *loveliness incorporated*. Bit fake, of course, but what the hey-- it's only the town, anyway. The rest, not only the white beaches but especially the landscape out at the cliffs is breathtaking...

Now I'm *really* longing for a West Coast vacation again.
You clever little Californian-- oops, you did it again! & ;-)
Well, gotta run. Long day tomorrow. Have a nice evening, 'shaka!
