timepiececlockI think the shot wherein the princess Eowyn strides out the castle doors, and looks out over the plains as the horses approach in the distance, and the flag wavers in the wind and rips away... is the single most beautiful scene in this film. And the music! I adore the theme music for Rohan.

Also, we thought it would be really funny if it happened that way.
"Peter, the flag just flew away!"
"Keep shooting! Just keep shooting!"
And then Viggo rides up, and it lands nearby, and he's got a bit of a WTF expression on his face. Hee.
Still. Symbolism. Quite good.
