well, I know that, but I can hardly be expected to talk in whispers for two years about episode content of my favorite shows. Hey, there's stuff in other countries I've been spoiled for. sad fact is that everyone lives far away from somewhere. Anyway, I made a post about it. You're the first person who's mentioned it to me in a year of live journaling, so I figured nobody cared up until this point. Anyway, se the other recent post if you want my statement on the matter. :)

Yes, yes there was. Hell I figure If he can't be with Buffy, he should at least be with the ONE person (Vamp?) that Buffy Supposedly wants to be with.

Wasn't that fight really freakin' cool? I loved that they finaly let Spike do the High Jump Vampire Thing, that apparently only LA vampires can do. The fight was exactly the kind of thing I could have said I wanted in a Spike/Angel fight where they're *really* going at it, and meaning every punch. I love that it kept going; we weren't shorted out. It was a long fight, in TV time. mixed with the flashbacks... cool. ::Thinks of flashback, bites lip for poor romantic William::

Oh god yes the Vamp jump. I squealed. Plus that was a really long fight. And as a sucker for down and out brawls (my fave being the 20 min backalley brawl from They Live) I was doing a lil happy dance too.

And I Was SOOOO glad that they brought up the whole "Drusilla may have made me but you made me a monster." It was something straight outta fan fic. *sigh* can you tell I adored this episode?

yep! you and me both.

I agree- a LOT of fanon became canon this episode:

- that Angel made Spike what he is, was his teacher in vampire ways, and taught him to be particularly vicious rather than just the predatory eat-humans-like-to-fight kind of evil that most vamps are.

-that Angel used the relationship with Dru against Spike, and that Spike hated him for it actively, not just hated him for stealing her in season2.

-that sex was very casual around the vampires; no shyness or privacy

-that "deviant" has a lot of connotations

-that Spike was strong willed from the start (the hand thing), and eager to be seen as strong, as an equal to Angel, and that he did things to impress him and get approval, like he would a parent

-that Spike was Dru's keeper

-that Dru foresaw that they might not be destined to be together ("are we?" she asked I think)

-that the shanshu could mean either

-that both are worthy

-that there is a difference (to Angel and Spike personally, anyway, if not necessarily in the prophecy) between choosing a soul and getting cursed with one

-that Spike, once corporeal, will go look for Buffy almost immediately

...and so much more. I have to watch it again jsut to get it all...

Angel said that she was "in Europe," to Spike, which was episode #2. And then again it was mentioned in the Hellbound episode, when Angel told Fred that "and where do you think he's going to go scampering off to the minute his corporeal feet touch the ground," or something like that. But yep, that's the reason he said he was going "across the pond." Angel said "Europe will still be there," meaning that Buffy will, which is only half-true. Buffy undoubtedly has less work these days, but she's still a slayer so who knows how long she'll be alive.
