Someone pointed out that I didn't use a spoiler tag in my last post.

It's been 4 days dince it aired... is there a generally accepted rule on LJ for how long you have to cut content? I usually expect to be spoiled if it's after two days later. Promos more, I think, because that pertains to a not-yet-aired episode.

Speaking of THE EPISODE, in that final scene.. what was UP with EVE? Was that that guy who lost his hand like 3 years ago when I never watched the show? It looked like him.

Yep, `twas him, Lindsey MacDonald.

Eeeh! This possibly makes me hate Eve a tad less. But just a tad.

I don't hate her. I don't think she's as cool as Lilah, because Lilah played for Team Lilah, not Team Man I'm Currently Shagging. She wasn't a pawn kind of character. Except in the obvious works-for-the-Senior-Partners sense. She made her own plans. Eve is more of a little baddie following someone else's ideas, so much as we've seen up to this episode.

So... do you think Wesley is going to look up the prophecy for "the father will kill the son" now that Angel gave it to him in perfect quotes? I'll be the will. And Angel's little time-warping trick (his SECOND one) will be figured out..

Since your question about Lindsey has already been answered, I'll move on (but add briefly that Lindsey completely rocks, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this wonderful plot continuity).

As for cutting references to episode content, I pretty much always cut content stuff, because people living outside the U.S. don't get to see the episodes until long after we do. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry, and I try to respect other folks' desires to be unspoiled.

If you don't have any folks outside the U.S. who read your journal, that might not be as much of an issue.

hm... I've never really not posted something because of European viewers. I can only think of a few that I know of (many I don't know their location), and at the moment only one who has expressed a desire to stay spoiler free-- but that was with BTVS, not AtS, and last year was the last I heard on the subject. I'm sure my journal has always been awful, from the day I started it, for any unsoiled European. Hm... I think I'll make an announcement post that says how long I will go at cutting stuff. Somewhere between 3 days and a week. After that, I don't think I care to bother to cut. Thanks for your opinion, though.

No, there isn't, but I'm in Australia and Angel does not begin to screen until February 2004, so cut tags are appreciated.

I have the good fortune to have an e-friend capturing AtS, downsizing it somehow, and ftp-ing it to me 2-3 days after it screens in the US. I'm a lucky person and I know it - generally the LJ community are fairly curcumspect about spoilers and my Aussie fiends and I are grateful.

I am inadvertantly spoiled sometimes but that is the price for enjoying the LJ interaction.

So, generally,I would suggest that a cut-tag is minimal effort and you don't know who's reading - be kind to us folk from far away...we appreciate it.

Cheers!
Ann

Hm. Well, I don't know... I can understand not doing it for a week... but I can't not talk about stuff for 6 months. I just talk about Jossverse too much in my regular entries (excapt lately when my entries have been less in number, and coming in spurts) to be able to do that. Like, I might cut an episode summary, but three weeks from now I might make a random comment about something from that episode, maybe in how it connected to something I read or saw or did that day. And it could be a spoilery comment, from your perspective. I don't know... no one's ever really complained to me about that before, so I never even thought about it, but I do that often. I guess because it seemed a lot of the people I do have on my list that I know are in other countries end up with an arrangement like yours-- they have someone give them tapes, or they download the episodes. So they're often right alongside me, or sometimes ahead. Especially if they read spoilers of anything that hasn't aired at all yet.

I think i'll post an announement saying that my journal is spoiler-free guaranteed only for American airing dates, and that there is risk that Europeans could be spoiled.

I don't think I was suggesting that you not talk about stuff for months - just that cut tags for heavily spoilerish discussions are appreciated (and not that much of an effort) by folks from far away, and there are those who just might not be as fortunate as myself and others with friends who feed them the eps.

I do believe that people reading the LJ know the risk they take - and if they're reading journals that regularly spoiled them and they had an issue with this, they'd just de-friend to protect themselves.

Also, there is a *huge* difference between a random comment or a general statement about an ep and a blow by blow description/review/analysis.

Cheers!
