Just read Five Things That Never Happened to Captain Jack Sparrow
by.... people whose names I don't know for LJ but on the fic call themselves Beth/CG.

Brilliant, all of them. They all had these great touches-- "the quality of mercy" was particularly poignant, and "trickery" was cute and clever. I think the one I bonded with the least was "betrayers and mutineers"-- probably because I didn't like seeing my flambouyant, jovial, insufferable, unbeatable, invincibly clever pirate reduced to such a pathetic weasel of a human. But nevertheless elements of the characters rang true within the situation presented, so I can't find fault with the writing-- just my own taste. It had a cool Norrington, though. Norrington, by the way, is a character I've grown to love only upon the repeat viewings of PotC; I totally dismissed him the first round. Anyway, back on the fic. The last story, "landlocked", was my favorite of the five. It just felt the most in character of all of them, and the most rich. His final offering to the sea... so very, very good.

*g* That would be [livejournal.com profile] phoenixchilde, who also did the brilliant Sparrow vid, "Walk the Walk," which should be on her site as well.
