What if, those who could do magic without a wand, were considered too dangerous, too unmanageable? ::insert Darth Willow as an example:: What if the prejudice agaisnt it was supported by a millenia of jealousy and descrimination?

What if, years ago, centuries before Voldemort came to power, wandless magic was outlawed from the wizarding world?

What if they fled into the muggle world, where they were further persecuted, but grudgingly accepted as merely a "religion" in the 20th - 21st centuries?

What if they had to hide themselves from the wizardly world, and there was constant competition between the wizarding word and the indiviual covens and witches, to find find people with magical talent and teach them in their respective ways?

What if, with the rise of Death Eaters and the return of the Dark Lord Voldermort, the purer-blooded wizarding world was losing strength, dying out?

What if, with the increase of Slayers over the world and the progressive methods of new Watcher's Council, the number of people using wandless maggic in the muggle world was increasing?

What if something happened, and it came to war?

Could the wizarding world handle a war on two fronts, one born out of prejudice and tradition, and one borne out of desperation to survive the evil?

What if the wandless magic users of the muggle world considered the wizarding world to be a threat, territory already fallen to their evil paragon, Voldemort?

Where do the demons of world stand? The good, the bad, the undecided?

Where do Slayers and other Champions chosen by divine intervention, supposedly devoted to the cause of good, stand?

Who is good? Who is bad?

Is it about purity of blood, purity of craft, or ultimately, purity of soul?

What if it became the magical equivalent of World War?

----

Well, I'd like to read that. Anyone want to write it for me?

I suppose it's wishful thinking to ask that question, isn't it.

mostly i think i like the idea of "constant competition between the wizarding word and the indiviual covens and witches, to find find people with magical talent and teach them in their respective ways"

Michelle says:
you could use that as a concept, essentially a base from which to write one-shots, though

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
I was thinking about it.

Michelle says:
you could preface it with that summary, so that people would have an idea going in

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
like a race, to see who finds the new recruits first. Only, because the wizarding world is beaten down by tradition, they're losing the race

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
Well, if I did, it would jsut be about taht idea, not the whole war thing

Michelle says:
it might cause some interesting alliances too...

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
And probalby not a direct crossover, either, but more vauge

Michelle says:
it could work, though...the back story sounds quite plausible (in our own, fandom universe, of course!)
...And Really Bad Eggs says:
oooh-- thought!

Michelle says:
what??

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
what if, it was like, this big, big secret--- one of Luna's conspiracy theories, that Hogwarts and the wizarding world's defense against Voldemort is weakened because they're not able to get all the potential magical people, and they won't ally with the wandless magic-users in hiding that they won't even acknowledge actually exist...

Michelle says:
oooo....because of the Wizarding World's descent into inflexibility and narrow-mindedness?

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
yes! because they're closed-minded, the wandless magical groups (not a separate world or government, but rather whole ranges of separate people integrated into muggle society) are able to train and find the youngsters easier, so the wizarding world is not getting any new blood.

Michelle says:
hhmmmm, you're getting into some serious plot bunny territory there!

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
YOu friendly neighborhood witch discovers her neighbor has magical powers... she takes her into training to help her control it... meanwhile, that girl enver gets sent to a Wizarding school, never learns about the non-muggle world.

...And Really Bad Eggs says:
yeah.. the above is an example, not a plot.
