I watched an online trailer for a new film called Two Brothers:

My first reaction was: OMG! GUY PIERCE WITH HIS AUSTRALIAN ACCENT!

My second reaction was: Hey, did they crib that music from Draco's death scene---

--- in Dragon Heart? Yes, they did, they did.

C'mon. How many of you HP people looked on that one, hmmmm?

I love the way trailers steal music. To this day, I think of X-Files when I hear "Escape From Mantua" from "Romeo and Juliet" and if you count, you'll find that "O Fortuna" from "Carmina Burana" is used to death.

someone actually stole the XF theme music for a trailer? I didn't think anyone would be that bold...

Oh, no, I wasn't clear on that. The XF trailers themselves used "Escape From Mantua" (which in turn incorporated some of "Carmina Burana") and I bought the R&K score and well, whenever that track comes up I think of Mulder and Scully instead of the lovers they have in mind.

ah. I get it.

Mmm...Do you mean the Baz Lurhman version of R&J, or one of the older versions?

Baz'. I actually did get to see the older one in high school (OMG B00BX0RS!) and thought it was pretty good. The music was very pretty.
