Eowyn/Legolas? What madness is this?

So I stumbled across a site for the site for the Eowyn/Legolas ship. I spent a moment looking at the pictures on the main page, and the predominant thought in my head was:"Hey...you know...they would have really pretty blond children."

Is "they would have really pretty blond children" a legitimate reason to ship a pairing? It feels a bit silly to me...

In most cases I'm an Aragorn/Eowyn shipper. I had hearts for the Eowyn/Faramir thing at the very end of the RotK film, but even so the pairing has never bonded with me. Not because of any real problem with it--- just because I got confused when I read the first book and went for a few years thinking that Aragorn had actually married Eowyn instead of of Arwen, and I haven't reread it yet, so though I know now that she falls for Faramir, it has never quite set in permanently.

I don't really see any connection between Eowyn and Legolas at all (except for mutual devotion to Aragorn's cause, perhaps), but heck, they're pretty, and look pretty together, and I'll give it a try.

EDIT: Well damn, I didn't expect to find one I actually liked...

I love Legolas/Eowyn, pretty aside. Granted, all the fic that I've read has been set around Helm's Deep, and one or the other's thwarted love for Aragorn, but hey! It's hot. *g*

Though I'm not entirely certian of the pairing yet. Still, it's a chapter fic, where the one above is a really good one-shot. Or perhaps and eternally unfinished chapter fic with one chapter? Anyway, the first is short (and not about Helm's Deep!), this one's long. But both are well written.

I've madea page of all the fics I want to read (http://www.livejournal.com/users/rashaka/428892.html), and some of the LOTR ones are L/E. So must to get to!

I'm starting to think the pairing can be pretty good, though. But there's so much bad stuff I've run into already... ::sigh::

Apparently in the books, Eowyn and Faramir do get together. They fall in love while they're both recovering from their wounds.

Would work for me, since she's the greatest heroine in the trilogy and he's (to me, anyway) the most gorgeous LotR guy.

Like I said, it seems great in concept. It just hasn't really set in mentally though, for me. Because I haven't reread, and it was cut out of the films. So, although intellectually I know it, I don't have anything to connect it to, right now. So I'm kinda like "Eh... whatever."
