After talking to this guy from my speech class, it seems I'm now part of a cosplay group for Fanime Con.

::deep breathe::

Oooohhh.... kay. This will be a new experience for me. Guts, Shaka! Have guts!

I was thinking about it, and with my budget (next to nothing), my hair and looks (fairly long and dark blondish) and my time schedule availability... I have a few vauge ideas.

In no particular order:

1. Ino from Naruto. See the girl on the left. Her costume is pretty basic, and I wouldn't have to do anything to my hair except straighten it.

2. Deedlit from Record of Lodoss War. See here. But I would probably do only the green dress and the jewelry and sleeves, and leave off the armor. The problem is that I've only seen about 2 or 3 episodes of this show, and that was about 3 years ago, at least. I don't know anything about the character.

3. ...well, actually, that's all I've come up with so far. :pout: It's kind of sad really.

I could do Robin from WHR, but... her costume would take a lot of work. And be the most expensive.

Anyway..

Do Sakura. It shouldn't be that hard to dye your hair pink and her outfit's easier than Ino's.

Maybe. But I really don't want to die my hair. At all. I'm staying as far from dying hair as I can.

And I'm not sure about the outfit being easier. her has more than one color, where Ino's has essentially just the purple, with the white wrappings, which should be easy. And the sleeves... which would be pretty simple.

Thanks for the suggestion though. With either one, the tricky thing would be the forehead protector. I can't imagine what to use for it.

Oh! I just discovered Witch Hunter Robin today, on the Cartoon Network. I like! I think I probably need to wait until they start the series over again, though, because I felt a little lost coming in half-way through the story.

Yeah, okay, this has nothing to do with your costume, since I am far less well-versed in anime than you are and therefore unlikely to be of any help at all, but this was the first I'd seen anyone refer to WHR, and so I just had to squee in response.

WHR is cool! Though I'll bet it's confusing for you, coming in right in the middle. Last night's was episode 14 or 15 I think. Very confusing.

You should watch it though, either now or on the second run. It's a good series. I have some of my initial reactions to various episodes in the "anime reviews" part of my LJ memories, from back in June when I downloaded it. [livejournal.com profile] automatedalice_ likes it too! I don't know if you know her or not... she's a Spike/Buffy fan and anime fan. Writes very pretty fic. She's also good to talk to about it.
