I rewatched the preliminary episodes during Gaara and Lee's fight...heh, only a monster could kill a monster neh? (There are always exceptions of course)
But, *sigh* yeah, heart-wrenching. Gaara - even if he's a bit psychotic and crazy and mentally ill...I want to hug him to death. Ironic really.
I can't wait until their fight...it's going to be amazing.
It is. I'm just so fascinated by how all this is going down. To think... it was about 50 episodes ago that we first met Gaara and the sand nin. And yet, we're now finally getting to Naruto vs. Gaara. Whew. And yet, I don't feel like the wait has been unduly long. So much has happened between then and now, that it's all crazy to try too hard to look back. This show just kind of carries you along for the ride and you never want it to stop. I'm delighted that there's so much of the manga we haven't gotten to yet. I hope that the anime does ALL of the manga, and doesn't dare stop early.
The art for the Leaf characters, like Sakura and Naruto, was kind of weird in this episode. And yet the art for Gaara's flashbacks was normal.
::bites lip:: Poor Naruto! It's all up to him now. I hope it doesn't take too long to get him truly angry. If it takes too long, people could get seriously hurt.
Hehe...but man, the fights are going to get better, to extreme. Although you're right that Wave Country still holds as the best one because so many elements occured. But heh, I am going to enjoy this one for sure.
Anyways, I rewatched some of the episodes - including the one during the preliminaries where you mentioned Kakashi looking at Naruto after telling Gai that he probably do the same as Gai did with Lee.
That was utterly creepy I admit. But lol, you can tell that this simple-possibly overlooked scene will proportionate itself to a bigger matter. Mwha.
I gasped out loud and pointed frantically at my monitor when I saw that. Not that there was anyone around to appreciate my reaction, but it was an OMG!OMG!OMG!KAKASHI! moment. And it came and went so fast. But that's what I love about this show. Excellent continuity and very early foreshadowing.
I liked in the last episode when Kakashi and Gai were comparing numbers of attackers.
