In other words, pretty music that includes a chorus, choir, or something else that is equally lovely and unintelligible.
Ambrosian Boys Choir - Suo Gan
I found this off a Spirited Away video. This is the kind of music that if I heard it in person I'd probably start crying.
EDIT: I knew I'd heard this before! Apparently it's from the soundtrack of Empire of the Sun. ::sniffle:: No wonder it makes me want to cry.
Nobuo Uematsu on the Final Fantasy VIII Soundtrack - Liberi Fatali
A big dramatic thing. Too good for FF series, really. I wouldn't have guessed it to be from that if I didn't already know.
"The name Liberi Fatali is latin for "fated children." While most of the song is in Latin, the main chorus, "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" is not actual words. It is, instead, an anagram for the phrase "Succession of Witches" and the word "Love". "

Yoko Kanno on the Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack - 23 Hanashi
The vocals don't appear to till the last minute or so, but the entire thing is lovely. It's peaceful and soothing and makes me think of sparkling stars, for some reason. For those who have seen the series, this is the music that plays at the very end of the episode Brainscratch, when Ed and Jet are leaving the hospital where they found the comatose hacker.
Yoko Kanno on the Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack - Space Lion
I think I might have put this one up already, but if I did, oh well. It's worth putting it up again. Besides "Greenbird" and "Blue," this is probably my favorite piece of music from CB. At first it's saxophone, and then it gets into these weirdly Africanish slow drum pattern and then the children's voices kick in with some language that might or might not be real words but who really cares, it's pretty. It's a long one-- 7 minutes. But it's a must download.
TranceVision - Eden
I don't remember why or where or when I picked this up. It's nice though. Trance-ish. But not fast.
I was listening to several songs from the Vision of Escaflowne soundtrack (which all classical style orchestra) a few days ago while on a walk. You know, Yoko Kanno is one of my media gods. My favorite composer. How can she write so much music from so many different genres for so many different shows and be so stunning with all of them?
School starts tomorrow. Last quarter before transfer. ::sigh::
