Dead Like Me

timepiececlockThis afternoon ShakaDada tried to cancel our subscription to HBO and, in a state of weakness, succumbed to a really good deal for Showtime instead. As a happy result, I now get to watch Dead Like Me, a show I was interested in from when I read reviews of it. As another happy accident, tonight's episode turned out to be the pilot!
One episode and I'm attached. Good tv does that to you. Is it perfect? I dunno. But I was entertained and amused and never felt like the writers thought I was stupid. And I liked the characters, I liked the sarcastic but not heartless humor, and I liked the visual appeal. The guy Mason was hot, in an ATS!Doyle kind of way. Cuter, actually, all respects to the dead mind you. Kind of whacked, but cute. And I'm a sucker for an accent.
I liked the frog introduction, but I'd never heard that story before, except possibly as a warped version of the Greek story of Pandora.

::mumbles:: "They do if they fall down an elevator shaft."

EDIT: Dammit! There's not even a category for this show up on ff.net, and it's run a full season already! What's wrong with people in fandom? I need fic dammit!
