I'm listening to a radio station special on K. Cobain right now. They're playing lots of stuff, including his covers of older songs along with original Nirvana stuff. ::sniffle::

Sometimes I hate that grunge music came out when I was only just barely old enough to appreciate it. I was ten years old when Cobain died-- I barely knew what had happened. I had only started to pay attention to the music I listened to for about a year, and I had picked up on the grunge from my brother. Of course, I grew to be a much bigger fan of it than my brother ever did. He likes it well enough, but I love it. I adore alternative music. I hate that there's only two or three recent bands that I hear on the radio these days that I would actually call alternative music; the rest is mediocre rock bands that all follow a formula, punk bands, or pop bands. Punk and pop bands are fine but they're not alternative.

I miss alternative like Agent Sands misses his eyes.

Also, I miss flannel. It was never especially attractive, but damn it was comfortable. I'm a comfort dresser, and grunge was wonderful for comfort dressing.

Flairs are not comfort dressing. I don't even buy jeans anymore. I haven't bought jeans that weren't shorts in 4 years, and the only pair I own have a hole above the knee. But I won't throw them away, because after all, they are my only pair.

Instead I buy pants. Mostly cargo pants, because I like deep pockets. I'm the kind of person that would cheerfully shove an entire shopping mall into my pants pocket if I thought one would fit. And skater pants when I can affort them. It seems unfair that stores like Hot Topic charge so frickin much when they try to market the stoner/raver demographic, which I would think don't have hella money. But being neither a stoner (hate that shit) or a raver (not cool enough to know where to go) I admit I'm only assuming so.

Anyway, may his spirit rest in peace. And many other alternative artists that have passed in the last ten years as well.

I only wish I could wear cargo pants. Unfortunately, they all have zippers & pockets & crap at the bottom, which is useless cos I'd have to cut 'em off anyway. Stupid (lack of) height. If only I were a bit smaller, I could fit into kiddie clothes. Then I'd be *real* cool ;)

Well... sometimes they have short ones, don't they? I know some brands make pants in long, medium, and short length. I guess you would know better than me though if you've got this far with shopping.

Most cargo pants I've seen or gotten have pockets at the regular waist places and around the knees or thighs... never seen pockets at the very bottoms where you would cut them off. Huh. Zippers though... yep.
