Congratulations!

My old alma mater. :)

Let's see. Do I have any secrets to pass on? Um. Irvine is a hugely conservative enclave with a highly racist police force. But you probably already knew that part. But as long as you're white ... no problem!

The campus has changed drastically since I left. While I was going there, everyone joked that UCI stood for "Under Construction Indefinitely," because the whole place was a construction zone for a few years there. I left while a lot of it was still being built, so I probably wouldn't even be able to walk through campus without getting lost now.

What department are you going into? If it's English, I might be able to recommend some teachers. :)

Of course, you may still be waiting to here from universities you like better. Hee. But if you want any UCI dish, let me know.

I knew it was a very conservative/Republican surrounding community; a guide on campus told us that when I visited 3 years ago.

But as long as you're white ... no problem!

:::tentatively raises hand:: Er... yeah, I guess I am. That's sad though.

It was a beautiful campus when I visited in High School; very big. I think I saw 1 building under construction, but the campus didn't seem unfinished to me at all, from an observers POV. Then again, I've not lived there and seen all the dirty corners they hide from tourists and prospective students.

Political Science is my game. But if they want me to take English classes still... I'll ask. ;)

Ah, well. I look forward to converting the entire community to Democrats and Socialist-minded folk. It will be a worthy mission!

Er ... you should bear in mind that I graduated from there more than 10 years ago.
