Yeah... thank you. I love the ease of an online dictionary. But... this site doesn't have the entry for "slipt" ... oh well. It's an old spelling.

I thought they were always a paid service. Weren't they? Anyway, you could try http://dictionary.cambridge.org instead. I like it because they've got several different dictionaries you can search.

No. They weren't last week when I used it. You could always just go to their site, type in a word at the top, and get a dictionary or thesaurus match. I liked it because I like the Webster dictionaries and it didn't charge like it's big rival, the Oxford Dictionary.

Sorry to intrude. If M-W does start charging, there's always www.onelook.com, which combines 20 dictionaries, starting with M-W.
