Anyone else notice how Shigure is the slut of FB fic? He gets paired with freaking everyone.

I watched Kill Bill 1 with my family on Saturday night. My brother and I had seen it before, my dad, mom, and aunt hadn't. I was surprised, but my mom sat through the whole thing and even made a few jokes afterward instead of walking out and giving me a look that says "why do I ever let you convince me to watch this awful stuff?"

I guess there's something about campy movies that can take in people who loath the entire genre these movies spoof.

I still love O-ren Ishii's council speech. And I've still got to convince someone to go to the theater to see volume 2 with me.

I did watch the "making of--" thing on the DVD. The interviews with Tarantino cracked me up. He uses the word "like" the way a California teenager does-- spoken rapidly, interjected between every 5 words, and with great nuances of emphasis and meaning that only one's fellow like-saying peers can truly appreciate.

I don't even know where he grew up or anything about his origin, but it cracks me up to hear "adults" talking the way I did 3 years ago and still do when I'm relaxed.

I haven't read any FB fic yet besides general stuff and Kyoru. And one Hatori/Tohru smutfic that left me seriously damaged. But I've read a lot of summaries about Shigure paired with many different folks.

If you read any good Shigure/Ayame fic, pass it along though.

And have you seen the movie Chance with JM

Hee. The grasshopper has surpassed the cricket! And dude, 13 volumes of the manga didn't sound like a lot until I hit an ad or something saying "Thanks for two years of 'Naruto'!" and I was like, "DUDE! I just read two years' worth of storylines in a day and a half! And I only have *17* volumes' worth of 'Inuyasha' manga! No wonder my brain has MELTED!"

Ha HA! I have just solved all your problems. Go, this instant, and download the program CDisplay. It's a very small, simple program designed specifically for looking at comic scans on the computer. It can open ZIP files (or files designed specifically for it, CBZ files, which are really just ZIP files with the extensions changed) of manga scans and will let you read through them in order and fullscreen on your computer by pushing a button, or you can go to a certain page by number or by looking at thumbnails. And when you've finished all the pages in 1 ZIP file, you can just load the next ZIP file and keep reading. There's no way I would've gotten through even 2 chapters of manga without it.

I think Naruto is my favorite character. I just want to hug him and tell him that he is loved.

I also want to hug Iruka. He's like the perfect eligable ninja bachelor: being rather cute, smart, holds a steady job, not insane or evil in any way, not afraid to show his face in public, respected/adored by his peers and students, good with kids, and of course has a cool scar.

NO! Kabuto is *my* evil boyfriend! I love him even if he turns out totally evil!

Except that he obviously is lusting after Kakashi (who isn't? Mmmm...Kakashi is the one I cheat on Iruka with when I'm not officially cheating on him with Kabuto), so really it's a threesome. Me, and Kakashi&Kabuto as my bitches. Now you can truly appreciate my sexAy icon!

From the amount of KakaIru fics on ff.net, you'd think so. And that pairing has so little basis it's laughable. They've have like 3 conversations over the entire series. If they're goign to make Kakashi gay, then why couldn't those same badfic writers try their hand at Kakashi/Kabuto?

Rory told me that if you can slap two characters names together in this fandom, you'll find fic or fanart for 'em. So it doesn't suprise me that characters with three scenes between them have a following. This is another reason I'm takin' a big ol' step back from the fandom for this particular series.

Because then it'd be badly written fic about the one slash pairing that makes sense on the series?

I'll probably open myself up for an attack, but I bristle and gag whenever I see the SasuNaru slash or the KakuSasu slash. I'm not saying that het at this young age isn't weird (I certainly don't want to read about sexual encounters between SasuSaku, either, no matter what I actually write about them), but the slash really bothers me. I run from the Harry Potter fic sections like a woman on fire because of the slash.

SasuNaru I reject because it's so wildly out of character. It's not like Jet & Spike where they're best friends and live together and you know, maybe if they decided they were gay they could give it a go. For all that Naruto and Sasuke have come to care about each other as comerades, there's very little understanding or connecting going on between them and the trust level goes up and down depending on circumstances, but in day to day is pretty low. They're both contempuous of each other and resentful. And they're both very much wound up in their own issues.

In short, they're put together just because they're the two male leads. I hate that.

KakaSasu I reject for the same reason I reject KakaSaku. And the same reason I reject most HP fic where Hermione or Harry or Ron is paired with Snape or Lupin or whatever. No matter how many pretty words you use or how many gorgeous and literature-worthy descriptions, teacher/student stuff is icky.

Same here. Then it's not even limited to SasuNaru, either. You've got loads of Gaara/Naruto, Gaara/Sasuke, Naruto/Neji, somebody/everybody's brother ... it's just ... gah. It creeps me out, honest to God.

um... yes I do realize the hypocrisy of my entire previous comment considering the zero amount of legitimacy Kakashi/Kabuto has in canon as well... but there's never been any eyefucking between Kakashi and Iruka, so I stand by my comments.

Well, it's more of a subtext thing with Kabuto/Kakashi. You could have tons of fun with the subtext before it ever evolves into full on slash. S'why we thrive on things like eye-fucking.
