I'm downloading the dual-audio fandsubbed version of Trigun right now on bittorrent. Since I'm missing DVD volumes 1, 2, and the one DVD with the Rem episode, hopefully downloading these will give me good enough quality to match my DVDs so I can make vids. After I find out how to rip DVDs for videos, that is.

Yup. Which I will figure out how to do at some later date. And the video you're talking about is Coldplay's "The Scientist". Very good. Both sad and not sad. The way this video would be.

uh... haven't started using yet. But I downloaded Vegas Video and Virtual Dub. Not that I would know what to do with them. Eventually I was going to hunt down a few tutorials.

I have adobe premiere pro, and HIGHLY recommend it. HIGHLY. I can hook you up, although it's a massive file (716MB). If you want, I'll upload it to my webspace for you...

I would love your for that! I know it would be easier to get help from fandom vidders on my Flist because they all use Premier. I'll be connected all night so when you put it up I can download it tonight (go DSL!) then let you know when I finish so you don't have to have it up for too long.
