98% of the teenage population does/has tried pot. If you're part of the 2% who hasn't, copy this in your journal.

Q: Why not?

A: Why would I? No offense, but... what's the point?

Never tried it, never going to. My mind is weird enough already without introducing unpredictable brain-chemistry-altering substances to it.

Me too. Do you know, I don't get brain freezes? When I drink something extremely cold, I get stabbing pain between my shoulder blades, like a knife in the back. It makes me arch my back and yelp or whimper for a moment until it passes. And yet I've never had a brain freeze. It's like the nerve that runs up and down my spine was installed upside down or something.

There's enough weird things about me without the drugs.

I honestly think because it's "bad" to do it. I'm part of that 98% - I tried it once, and didn't like it. My poison of choice is legal, delicious liquor. Mm, liquor.

Ah, yes, liquor. As I sit here and gaze at my mostly stocked bar, I can't think of anything sweeter.

I don't count as part of that 98%...I think I was 20 when I tried it.

Haven't, because I am a Good Girl. I wouldn't mind trying it once to see, but I wouldn't want to make a habit of anything mind-altering, ever. Besides, it might be a lot less harmful than, say, crack, but because it's illegal you really don't know what exactly you're getting. I've read of cases where it was laced with something else.

yeah, that is another part-- being laced. Because the whole drug trade is so seedy, you're putting your health in other people's hands.

I've never tried it either, and it's sorta decriminalised here, too. I've even sat in a room with everyone gettign high and drank my diet coke. I'm such a good girl - and also, I'm way too cowardly and uptight and enjoy laughing at other people making fools of themselves ;)

I'm uptight in that I hate the idea of not knowing what I'm doing, not having control over my body or mind. I'm perfectly willing to make mistakes and do stupid things, but I'd rather it be me of sound mind who makes the decision.

Heh. I'm in the 2% -- or at least I was when I was a teenager. :) I've never smoked tobacco either. Not because of any moral objection but because both tobacco and pot give me sinus headaches when I'm around the smoke. Kinda killed the desire.

Ironically, despite the headache, I love the smell of good pipe tobacco because it reminds me of my grandfather.

I'm in that 2 per cent too. I honestly don't see any reason for me to be vaguely interested. Especially when you hear horror stories of people trying it once and going into seizures or something. My brain is addled enough trying to cope with everyday life as it is! ;)

I don't think I'd go into seizures, but it has no real appeal to me. I can get my fixes elsewhere-- more emotional and less damaging to my health: fic. and anime.

98%? Are those numbers for real? It's not nearly as much in this part of the world.

So yes, part of the 2%. Waste of good money, says I.

I agree on the wasting part.

I copied the meme from someone else, so I'm not certain exactly which teen population it refers to, actually.

I had a former housemate that had advocated a certain amount of social use. He told me a story about how he got high at a friend's house, sat in a rocking chair across from a poster/sign on the wall that said, "Sutter Home," and apparently rocked and read those words aloud for 2 hours straight. That alone makes me not want to touch the stuff. (Or Sutter Home wine for that matter.)

That said, I have far less problem with marijuana than tobacco.
