ggrr..... how come I can't get my background color to change? I swear I've made it a brownish color, but no matter how many times I reload it, it never changes.

What option changes the background color? I thought it was this one:

See? That's a brownish color. It used to be yellow, but I changed it. And yet... my actual journal display never changes. ARGH!

((but while you're here, admire the wonderful new banner [livejournal.com profile] psychodragon82 made me))

Well, I'm guessing (because I'm clueless about these sort of things) that you've modified your layout at some point in order to get the header up there. Could those modifications be overriding the new background color you're trying to put in?

I had wondered about that, but then I reasoned that obviously it had worked before because the modification for a banner was already in place except that I had a repeating background image instead of a banner at the top, and when I did that it accepted yellow as one of my chosen colors-- thta shade of yellow I chose at some point, it's not a default. So I don't know why it wouldn't change with my new choice. And why my choice stays on the custom page but isn't reflected in the actual journal appearence.

actually...

You were right after all. I went through the code and scrolled through the whole thing and found an override of my background color, which probably was there because that was my background color when I cut and pasted that part of the code to my layer customizing edit thingy.

See? Now it's brownish and a nice contrast instead of that sickeningly perky yellow.
