Mystic River

timepiececlockWell, finally watched Mystic River tonight. I have a few, brief, things to say:
1. Sean Penn was good, but not as good as Tim Robbins or Kevin Bacon. They deserved Oscars more.
2. It was eerie, and unrelentinly grim, but it wasn't like watching A Simple Plan or watching Deliverance, thank the Santa Clause. It wasn't as hard to watch as it could have been.
3. What was up with Laura Linney's character at the end, and her weird reaction to her husband's revelation about his friend's innocence? That was downright bizarre.
4. It was really all very ironic. And sad.
