I was just struck with the most evil little thought.

Naruto doesn't know about Kabuto yet, does he?

I mean, I've been taking it for granted that everybody knows because they keep talking about it. But Naruto still thinks Kabuto is that weakling genin who quit the exams. He has no idea.

Oh, poor thing. The shock's gonna be a bitch.

I can just imagine it now. Poor Naruto. He admired and liked Kabuto. He fought with him. Kabuto saved him and Sakura from failing the exam, out of his own inner kindness (or so Naruto thinks, sad as it is). Poor Naruto. He has a lot of experience in not trusting people and having people fail and disappoint him... but not for a long time. He's gotten used to having friends and respect and being connected by common loyalties to his fellow ninjas. And he values that loyalty and sense of duty to the village above everything. He's going to be very unhappy about this. Probably will refuse to accept it at first.

Oh, I'm so excited! I want the next ep, like, now.
