Aug. 14th, 2004 06:51 pmI was right. The Gate on FMA is taken from a piece of famous art--- The Gates Of Hell by Auguste Rodin.
Which is on display in bronze at the Stanford Museum of Art. I've seen it-- it's ugly. But that's the point I guess.
There's a lot of detailed pictures and information at this site, but I just wanted to show you the comparison. It's not directly taken from it, but the similarities are too striking to ignore and the basic design is the same. Check it out.
