timepiececlock: (For The Birds - WTF?)

I'm trying to think of this children's book I liked when I was young.

It involved a very practically-minded princess, and something about her going around in a paper bag or a burlap sack or something and looking un-princessy, and an evil dragon that she at some point bargained or bantered with or fought or something.

I think it was read to me in gradeschool.

Sound familiar?

The Paper-Bag Princess. Robert Munsch, I believe.
Glad to be of service :) :bows:

Yup, what they said. She ends up wearing nothing but a paperbag and takes on a dragon by herself.

It's not the book you're thinking of, but if you liked that one, you should like The Enchanted Forest Chronicles series by Patricia C. Wrede (Dealing With Dragons, Searching For Dragons, Calling On Dragons, Talking to Dragons). :)

I've read those four! I own the first three. All very entertaining. But no-- this book was like a 1st or 2nd grade reading level.
