This is it. The Top 32. They will never lose their place, ever. They shall forever be immortalized in the blood of my veins as the music to my soul. I didn't number it because there is no particular order or max amount, but this is it. It takes a lot to get added to this list. Not many do. There's many more that I love so dearly, but this is the creme de la creme of my musical preferences. If anyone rolls their eyes at Celine Dion, I'll give you the finger. As wank-worthy as she otherwise may be, that's a freaking a-maz-ing song. I've got some old classics worked in there too, you might see. They have endured the test of time and the test of being written before my birth, and worked their way onto the Top Tippidy Top Ranking anyway. I know all the words to every song on here. And if you think there aren't any words to Liste or Tchaikovsky, you just aren't listening hard enough.

Crap! I can go months without thinking of this song until someone mentions it or I hear a snippet of it playing somewhere and then I listen to it non-stop for weeks at a time. It's a thing.

Date: 2003-10-14 09:10 pm (UTC)I love this song! I'm not really a huge fan of hers or anything, but that song is really great. I've never, ever gotten sick of hearing it, which says to me that I must really like it a lot. :)
There are a lot of other wonderful songs on that list, too. "Hey Jude" and "Scarborough Fair" are two of my all time favorites, as well.

That was the first Celine Dion song I'd ever heard, and her range just blew me away. I was sitting in the parking lot of the mall, staring at the car stereo in shock. I thought "The only other person on the planet who could sing that song that well would be Whitney Houston. And she'd break about even."

They have so many great songs, and I've been listening to them for so long...they're favorites of my mom as well, and she always used to play them when I was a kid, so I basically grew up listening to their music. I also love "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "The Sound of Silence," and "El Condor Pasa" (just to name a few).

Oh, she definitely has an amazing voice. No doubt about that. But the songs she sings...I usually end up tiring of them after awhlie (That song from Titanic, for example). But I'm always happy to listen to "It's All Coming Back to Me Now." :)

Date: 2003-10-14 11:41 pm (UTC)Me too. Both my parents liked them. I didn't like "Bridge" until much later though; when I was young I got bored wiht it, I think. Then about 3 years ago I heard it again, and I realized that it was really quite good.

Everlong, by The Foo Fighters
You want Elvis, I want the Foo Fighters at my wedding. *This* is my wedding song for so many reasons, but very simply, for, "Gotta promise not to stop when i say when"
Ah, yeah...

Date: 2003-10-15 09:58 am (UTC)You rec'ed me The Tea Party once, they blew me away, and I still love them. Well... More than anything I am a Counting Crows fan, and it pains me that you keep talking about Margery Dreams of Horses, because I cannot for the life of me get hold of it anywhere online. If I was rich I'd buy all their CDs, but alas I am not...
So I wanted to take a chance and ask you if maybe you could give it to me? I would really, really appreciate that. I have no more soul to sell you, but perhaps one of my friends' will do? :o) No sweat if you feel uncomfy with it, it was woth a shot.

Date: 2003-10-15 11:33 am (UTC)I'm not rich either. Well, I've got a few extra souls collected over time ::wink:: but they're not really redeemable for US Dollars.

I could. I could. I don't mind putting it up for download anyway (I got my mp3 from
