I keep forgetting you're not up-to-date with the manga.

You'll like the next arc for sure sure.

Let me pose to you the question I just left on Kawcrow's journal:

Given where the anime is right now (just completed Tsunade's ascenion to Hokageness), and what you know of where the manga is right now (which as you know I am not caught up on), should we be worried that the anime is starting to catch up and that we will run out of manga soon? How far ahead would you say the manga really is?

The last 3 eps were fillers as will be the next two upcoming episodes and because the recent Naruto episodes were fillers yeah I'd say it's catching up. The manga really isn't far but the latest chapter was somewhat the conclusion of the upcoming arc in the anime. The next arc is starting though (manga).

I haven't watch ep 104 yet, but I've seen the OP link from one of your flist. The foreshadowing in there is ...[garbish language].

Out of curiosity, and I won't say anything spoilery (I promise on my uncle's grave), what did you pick up from the OP about the next arc?

Let me first explain to you what I have been already spoiled for:

1. Sasuke fights Naruto on a hospital roof, and Naruto "nearly kills" Sasuke.

2. Sasuke runs away to Orochimaru to be stronger (I don't know if this happens right after the Naruto fight and that was why they were fighting, or if that fight happens later.)

3. Naruto promises to Sakura he would bring Sasuke back.

4. Some of the genins are formed in a team under Chuunin Shikamaru (the group in the opening) and go out to retrieve Sasuke.

5. Kabuto "needs to die." I'm guessing he does something so horrible everyone must hate him afterward.

6. People die.

7. Sasuke is an angsty bitchy little asshat.

8. I think Choji dies, but then again I could be wrong.

That's what I know so far-- you don't have to tell me if I'm wrong or right because I will eventually find out one way or another. But that should clarify for you. What I saw in the anime mostly supported this; then again I've been waiting for Sasuke to go all Anakin on us since episode 33, before I was even spoiled for anything.

The angst totally clued you in eh? Lol, ok I won't clarify. But this arc is the best! And you'll get to see a bunch of cool scenes! Which I cannot wait for...;_; the best scenes.

And yes (just read your link post), lol, the angst and the pain. You'll love it. But this arc it seems is just the turning point. I'm anticipating the next arc. O_O

The only thing about the latest ep fillers that annoyed the hell out of me was the suggestion that Sakura is/was being trained under Tsunade. I hate hate HATE Sannin/Team 7 parallels. I want Sakura to be a strong shinobi for sure but I want her to be strong on her own terms and not because Tsunade is training her (how can she, she's hokage and she has time for these sort of thing?) or because Sasuke is apparently going to Orochimaru to train and Naruto is already training under Jeraiya so why not let Sakura get train by Tsunade too?

But because of the way the story is heading too, that seems to be an inevitable case. Which sucks. I want to see Sakura, not Sakura-turned-Tsunade. *bawls* I think I'm the only one who really thinks this way, the Naruto forums I go to likes the idea of Sakura being trained by Tsunade. Yet those oppose the idea wants her to stay useless (as they interpreted her to be).

Ok, sorry, I'm ranting, it's one thirty in the morning here so please excuse my bitching.

I've been thinking about this and if the anime follows the manga for the next storyline (without any additions), the anime is definitely going to have to stand on its own soon. The difference between the anime and manga is about 60+ chapters and considering how much faster a show can move through things than the written word, that's not a large difference.

I didn't want to say anything about the spoilery things you know/read about but the Kabuto comment made me scratch my head. "Did I miss something eviller than what he did before?" If I could watch him hurt and mock my precious baby ninja during the Tsunade plot without feeling the need for him to die, I don't think there's much worse he could do. *g*
