Oct. 21st, 2004 10:08 pmI was, our of bordeom, touring episode guides for Startrek: Enterprise, a show I watched half-heartedly last season and did actually watch the finale for-- not because I particularly like it, but because it's SciFi and I'm easy like that.
Turns out I missed the first 3 eps of the new season. And now T'Pol is married? Or gonna be married? Or something? Damn. Well, she bugs me a lot so this is yet one more disappointment.
Sadly I also realized something that may make it impossible for me to enjoy Enterprise ever again (which was always a bit of a struggle for me anyway-- the enjoying part): the fact Trip/Tucker/whateverhisnameis looks freakishly like a young George W. Bush. The same head shape and everything.
Um, okay, no no no no. How can I ever watch this show again, now that I've realized this? It's all wrong now. I can never go back to my innocence of the time before this realization.

Date: 2004-10-21 10:51 pm (UTC)I'm a pretty big Star Trek fan, so I gave every Trek offering after The Next Generation at least one season's worth of my time. Enterprise, so very sadly, had the potential to be one of the best Treks ever. However, the stupid writers decided that they wanted to pretend like they were doing TOS again and recycled old plotlines.
I stopped watching that series after two seasons.

Date: 2004-10-22 01:00 am (UTC)The same here. I watched it when it started for about half a season, then gave up. I've caught the occaisional episode since-- I had a basic understanding of the overall plotline of season 3, though I missed many of the details cause I watched quite sporadically and mostly cause my dad had it on at the time. I was a bit amused by the advancing of the T'Pol/Trip storyline that's been waiting in the wings since they gave each other an anti-virus oil massage in their underwear in the first episode.
Sadly, all ruined. I'm sorry I ruined it for you to, but it's just not the kind of thing you can _not_ say when it hits you.
