Journal Stuff:

A weird thing happened. [livejournal.com profile] teleute12 pointed out that one of my entries was dated December 8th. Apparently I've had my computer calendar accidentally set on December for a whole week now. So I just went back and fixed about 10 journal entries dated wrong. ::sigh:: It was annoying.

Full Metal Alchemist:

And that's it for tonight! Check yesterday for the first 3 episodes.

Yes, I am leaving you guys with the most horrible, horrible, evil cliffhanger. The episode that suckerpunched me with a shovel and left me mewling in the corner.

Miyazaki Fangirlling Stuff:

You can download the newest trailer for Howl's Moving Castle, Hayao Miyazaki's next film. It opens on November 20th in Japan. ::sigh:: I wish it opened over here too. I love his movies. And this one is based on an English-written children's book, interestingly enough. I like this trailer: you get to see new clips and there's lovely music.

Family Stuff

My mom's comming down this weekend to spend next week with my dad for their 25th anniversary, and we (me, my parents, my brother, and maybe my step-aunt) are all getting together on Sunday to do something fun all day, possibly Disneyland! It will be nice to see my mom again. I saw her two weeks ago, but damn, living away from home sucks. My mom and I are so close-- I really miss that. Stupid distance.

is actually a British book - written by Diana Wynne Jones.

Okay, so she's Welsh, but the book is very not American.

Disney bought the distribution rights for it, so it should be appearing here, if not in theaters, at least on DVD.

Seriously? Damn that bites. I was writing a little bit about the movie for a class I'm in, and I searched all over her website to see her background, and it said that she lives in New York, and I checked and the publishing company for the book is in NY.

but that doesn't mean the author or the book in question necessarily is American. ;) Where did you look up your information?

http://www.leemac.freeserve.co.uk/autobiog.htm <-- her official autobiography

some more information about the animated version at the fansite

She's one of my favorite authors, and Howl's is one of my Very Favorite Books. I can't wait to see what Miyazaki does with it.

I got my information from her homepage: http://suberic.net/dwj/

wait... I see you already have that site. I thought it was her homepage, not a fan page.

I haven't read Howl's Moving Castle, and I don't recognize any of the other titles at a glance, but the back of the book cover mentions "seven-league boots" and I *know* I once read a book about those. A long time ago.

Also the first episode I saw. Heh. *G*

Ummmmm. Oh yeah! "Howl's Moving Castle"? GREAT effin' book. When I found out Miyazaki was doing a movie of it I couldn't stop squealing for a WEEK. I got the soundtrack at DragonCon - it's lovely. ^_^ (read da book!)

Wow; I thought it was Tohru with that hair. Kyo/Kagura, hmmm.... I like them as a siblings/friendship relationship, because I'm a die-hard Kyo/Tohru fan, and because I think Kyo needs Kagura more as a friend and a family member to trust than as a girlfriend. But I feel for Kagura and her love--- Kyo is *very* hot. ^-^ Also the snappiest dresser I've ever seen in anime or manga.
