timepiececlock: (soldiers who don't do anything)

Well, tonight for two hours I tried my hand at using Adobe Premier Pro. It was an unsatisfying experience because I had fuck-all idea what "using Adobe Premier Pro" means. I don't even know what the windows are for-- it's like being asked to use Microsoft Word when you didn't even know what the symbols on the keyboard are supposed to represent letters. So I quit and posted a plea for help at [livejournal.com profile] vidding, and instead used Goldwave to prepare the song I wanted to use.

I took the Johnny Horton version of "Battle of New Orleans" and cut it down from 2:32 minutes to 1:28 minutes, cutting off some of the choruses and one of the verses. I like the end result-- the music is mostly drums so the cuts are difficult to point out just by hearing it, and it also is now an easy size for me to try to make my first music video: very short and simple and not too scary.

Now if only I can actually figure out how to work Adobe, I could get started, and someday present y'all with a little Full Metal Alchemist video devoted to the soldiers who don't do anything. ::hopeful::
