Nov. 29th, 2004 09:34 pmIn my previous entry I got an interesting anonymous comment from someone called "i have a life in Texas" telling me to get a life.
I had multiple first reactions to this at the same time:
-I'm glad I don't have a life in Texas. I live in California and I really like it here.
-obviously their life must not be very good if they care about my lack of one.
-didn't anyone tell you "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?"
-didn't anyone tell you to be polite to strangers?
-does it say something about life in Texas if the person doesn't capitalize the first person article but does capitalize the T in Texas? Is that some sort of mysterious and unintentionally ironic comment on the conservative agenda for stripping Americans of their civil liberties and all the good things associated with individualism?
-why do I always get the stupid anonymous commentors? Why can't I get cool, intelligent ones like the BNFs on my flist who always get that sort of thing?
-OMG, could this be someone from the
100bullets kerfluffle come to leave rude and senseless anonymous comments on my journal? That would be awesome. Do either of those poodles live in Texas?
And, a few moments later, the question, "Why did they comment about my having no life and being stuck on LJ on an entry made at 11 at night on a Sunday, only the second entry that day, after 4 days of total absence from LJ?"
Edit: Oh, wow. Look down. It has struck again. And apparently it took some fine uppers before it arrived.

Date: 2004-11-29 10:09 pm (UTC)They're an idiot -- and speaking as a Texan born and bred (even if I live in SoCal now), I'd like to state for the record that most of us from the Lone Star state are not rude idiots. We can spell, too. :)
Of course, if they were were a true Texan, they wouldn't be afraid to sign their name. :)

I'll take that and record it.
