I was really suprised by how much I ended up loving GTO. It was really over-the-top comedy and still had adorable character progression throughout the series. (Oh, man, Fuyutsuki's makeover episode...with her scary, scary tan...) It makes me sad that there were less than 40 episodes. Maybe I'll check out the live-action drama.

The LA GTO isn't too bad, just don't try and compare it to the anime regarding certain characters and what not. Though certain things that did go on in the LA version, I wished happened in the anime but sadly it didn't. LA GTO is 12 eps plus a drama special and a movie. It nearly took me a whole week to download the whole LA package but it was worth it.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed that the anime was so short, it felt as if they could've done more and the ending left me frustrated.

YOUR ICON!! *flails with Eikichi squeee* I love Onizuka, I really do. He's a maniac and a mentor and a pervert and a punk and a sweetheart. And the bleached hair with black eyebrows totally work the look of my Spike-from-"Buffy" kink.

I liked the anime's ending, but I wanted mooooooooooore. Still do.

I will keep that in mind about the LA GTO. I was only ever able to find a working torrent for the first episode of it. Where did you find the rest of the series?

Yes she did. She was adorkable, though. (And she & Onizuka were cute together--when he told her he liked her name! aaawww!) They were all so cuuuuute. Murai and his mom! Urumi and her scary brain!

I have a burned disc of the manga scanlations volumes 1-15 that I pulled off Suprnova (and that I have yet to read--I keep getting distracted!); want me to send you any? Also, I've heard that there's a prequel(?) of some sort for the manga series; do you know anything about it?

Your description of Onizuka is the same way I see him too *lol* Whats there not to love about him? (and knowing he's a virgin at that makes me laugh harder).

Oni and Fuyu make a cute couple, they are made for each other. Apparently she cares what he thinks and he cares what she thinks about him.

I haven't heard anything about that. Its funny how quick I got hooked on this series cause a friend of mine sent me copies of her dvds for X-mas this past yr and that was probably the best X-mas gift I got. I had it on my list of wanting to check it out since I kept hearing about it and seeing ppl cosplay as Onizuka. Though with all the talks at the time, I was expecting a big fandom but there isn't SQUAT out there. >___< So now I have a few fics in the making for it.

How'd you end up seeing GTO?

My sweet sweet crackstore, Netflix. The premise of "GTO" intrigued me (my mom's a teacher, and I'd heard a talk on the scariness of the Japanese public school system), so I got the first disc and ended up working my way through the series last fall. I finished it over Christmas break, and I'd really like to watch through it again (though I should probably read the manga first).

I love your icon. May I come back and steal it?
