Tutu episde 13: Ack! What a great finish. About halfway into this episode it hit me: "I'm watching a ballet." I mean, I knew we were watching a series ABOUT ballet, and about faery tales, and I knew that the whole story WAS a fairy tale/ballet... but somehow in this episode I just really understood it on all its metatasic levels: I'm watching a ballet.

I was totally prepared to hate Kawy for a minute when I thought Fakir had died. Then again we did get to see him wet and angsty with his hair down and a still carrying a sword. Wheee.

I loved that Ahiru said how Fakir gave her strength. I need some BtVS End of Days crossover icons. You know, the really shippy kitchen scene where Buffy's talking about how Spike gave her strength. And they're all about to confess their love and decide to wait until later but then they never get the chance till he's dying and then...::cries again for lost show that Shaka loved so dearly::...


Anyway... I have these ending thoughts:

1. Ahiru/Fakir is so season 5 & 7 Spuffy.
2. Tutu/Mytho is so season 2 & 3 Bangel.
3. Fakir/Mytho is so Spangel.
4. I'm still a total Spuffy fangirl.



I'm ready for season 2, I think.

Season 2 of "Princess Tutu": in which Mytho gets a personality, Pique gets a love interest, authorial intent gets called into question, the world gets weirder, the weird you love harder, love is a many splendored thing, love's a bitch and then you die, the pen is mightier than the sword, hope is a thing with feathers, and some stories don't end with a happily ever after.

By the way... I'm going ballroom dancing, in a gown, this weekend.

This is a total coincidence that was planned way before I even heard the words "Princess Tutu"... but now it's seems almost sublime.

It's this thing called the Gaskell Ball (I'm not sure if I spelled that right) in Oakland, CA. Since I live in Irvine now, not San Jose, me and two of my housemates are having a girl's weekend road trip to drive up California to the bay area, where we're going to sleep over at one's house in Fremont, then Saturday night go to a BALL. There will even be lessons in ballroom dancing first. I am going to wear my senior prom dress.

And while I'm there I'm totally going to be thinking about this anime. Which is about dancing.

It's sublime, I tell ya.

Dude, if you're still up, send us the eps! (and then go to bed! Cause it must be way late there. Though you probably have a student's sleeping schedule, huh?)
