opening teaser- Ok, um... so NOT expecting that to happen this soon. So much for seeking promotions. This show never NEVER fails to surprise me.

09:30 minutes- Am laughing my ASS off now. This, THIS is why I love this show. Of course Russel gives Ed's name for such a stupid reason. And of course the first time he tries it, they get arrested. ::shakes head:: He should *really* learn that mom is always right when she says "Son, lying never ends well."

11:00 miutes- trench warfare! I knew this was circa-WWI! I knew it!

11:50 minutes- ::faints:: I have no words.

12:30 minutes- *chants* Mulder and Scully, Mulder and Scully! ... that's exactly what they're like. Damn you Kawcrow for ever bringing that comparison to my attention. Mulder and Scully, Mulder and Scully! So made for each other. And so never ever going to have sex unless the writers stretch the show out another 7 full seasons.

15:22 minutes- Edward & Izumi: proof that when conducting raids, the buddy system still works best. Well... pretty good at least.

22:16 minutes- What? It's over already? It can't be over! That wasn't twenty-two minutes, it was... it was only like ten! ::grabs monitor and shakes it violently:: No! Come back! You're not done yet! You're not done yet!

#49 promo- Hey. We have a date now. I was so right.

It's become inescapable... FMA is taking on a songlist in my head. So far, the entries are:
So far my FMA character mix is thus:

Edward: "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes

Alphonse: "Einstein On The Beach" by Counting Crows

Roy: "Vindicated" by Dashboard Confessional

Hughes: "Do You Realize?" by The Flaming Lips

Izumi: "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush

Trisha Elric & Honenheim: "Fields of Gold" cover by Eva Cassidy

military staff: "The Battle of New Orleans" by Jimmy Driftwood. This is pure inspiration...ohmygodit'ssoright. "The Legionaire's Lament" by the Decemberists would also work, but somehow the long-suffering goofy folksong nature of "The Battle of New Orleans" just makes it perfect.
In 1814 we took a little trip, along with Colonel Mustang down the mighty Mississip ...

Hawkeye: "Time After Time" - INOJ (cover)

Lust: "Black Black Heart" by David Usher

Greed: "Little House of Savages" by The Walkmen (suggested by Kawcrow I think, or someone else on my flist)

Envy: "The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell" by David Bowie

alchemy:
"Into the Void" by Nine Inch Nails
"Voodoo" by Godsmack
"Southwest Voodoo" by Insane Clown Posse

Every Sad Person In The Whole Damn Show: "Suo Gan" by Ambrosian Boys Choir

Every Screwed-up Person In The Whole Damn Show: "Pepper" by Butthole Surfers

Undecided

Wrath: something very scary and very bitter... maybe "Jeremy".

Winry: "Right Now" by SR-71 (I saw a really good music video to it... it just is my mental EdWinry song now... though it may be replaced later.)

Dear me, dear me... this growing list is going to plant in my head and stay there... god I wish I could see a vid to "Seven Nation Army" for Ed. The beat/rhythm of that song is perfect, and could the lyrics be any better? And the stains coming from my blood tell me 'Go back home.'

I think Lt. Havoc deserves something... Greenday. Like, "Long View". Heh.

WHERE are you finding FMA 48!? I can never find the centralized Bittorrent hub for it and have to wait until it shows up on Suprnova.

And I repeat my exclamation of terror: WHAT ABOUT AL?!

Ed's going to destroy the Philosopher's Stone?! He's going to DESTROY AL?! OMGWTFNOOOO!!!! *clings to Al and Hughes and cries*

I think Ed's new resolve regarding the philosopher's stone means that he's finally done being afraid of it. He is not giving up on Al-- he's realized he has to change Al now and put a stop to this raging cycle of crazyness by destroying the stone. I don't believe he's suddenly given up on saving Al's life altogether and would kill his own brother.

But let's take a moment to ponder the fact that THERE WILL BE NO FURHER ROY TO MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER!

Roy is so screwed now, even if he wins. ::headdesk:: I can understand completely why he's doing it, because Hughes deserves revenge, and Pride needs to be taken down, but damn... NO FURHER ROY TO MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER!

What are we gonna do? Armstrong and Hawkeye are screwed too by being involved in the rebellion. That leaves, what? Ross! And she doesn't seem the type to rule the world.

You ate my brain. Or I ate yours. On Tuesday I was listening to Elephant and by the second verse of "Seven Nation Army" my mind was screaming, Ed! Then I found this icon and had to have it even though it's from the manga and I feel guilty about that--like I'm saying I'm reading it when really I'm only watching the anime.

The lyrics are really perfect for him. Just imagining a well done vid to that song makes me happy so if the real thing were to ever appear I'd probably have a heart attack.

I haven't listened to some of the other songs you list, but your Hughes and Roy songs seem dead on too. Dontcha just love making music all about characters? It's a hobby of mine.

Like it? I just can't stop doing it!

I made a CB compilation, and I have a half-made list for Trigun in my head.

On Tuesday I was listening to Elephant and by the second verse of "Seven Nation Army" my mind was screaming, Ed!

I know! It's just right. Because Ed really is like his own little one-man army. He's like a tank... he just keeps coming and nothing can hold him back for very long. Usually I don't for songs for characters that are all "I'm cool and you can't beat me" cause it sounds foolish, but for Ed, it's pretty true... lines like "I'm gonna serve it to you." I have to nod and say, yeah, Ed will smash through the unworthy. Plus all the lines about finding a home, going back home, bleeding.... oh the angst.

I can't go on about how perfect "Vindicated" is for Roy. Gah. Even the title is what his character is all about. "I am flawed, but I am cleaning up so well." And "I am selfish I am wrong, I am right I swear I'm right."

Your icon gave me the thought, actually!

I am waiting for episode 49. It will be my treat to myself once I am safely moved into my dorm.

You know, in retrospect, I was so saddened by what happened to Wrath. How easily he was convinced to be immoral and inhuman. A part of me still wants to see him being raised happily by Izumi, in the far-away Neverland where Roy becomes Furher, marries Hawkeye, she becomes his second/assistant (his Juliet Douglas, one might say), Ed and Al get their bodies back, Al marries Winry and they have a couple of happy alchemy-prone kids, and Ed goes on to live a life of high adventure and discovery and helping the little people, in the name of Furher Roy.
