timepiececlock::watching episode 1 of Sailor Moon, live action, in Japanese with fansubs::
1. Ha! Mamoru's still kind of an ass in any season 1 incarnation.
2. What? They're using the Cresent Moon Wand? NO! CONTINUITY RAPE! CONTINUITY RAPE! That wand doesn't appear till they have the silver crystal and the silver crystal doesn't appear until 2/3 into the first season after everyone learns the secret identities and Mamoru sacrifices himself for Usagi and is "killed" by Zoicite. She's supposed to use her tiara.
3. Jadeite's actor and costume makes me snicker.

Date: 2005-04-01 01:53 am (UTC)I watched the anime first, though there are a number of changes I also disliked once I read the manga (well, I read large chunks of it). The most significant thing being Mamoru/Darien's age change from 17 to 20. 17 and 11th grade to 14 and 9th grade is kinda bad but not that bad. Enough to raise eyebrows, but not a serious problem, and not a problem at all a year or two down the road. 20 to 14, however... that's "I'm calling the police on you" territory.
