Well, we all saw that coming.

But still... ouch. Poor Veronica. Poor Veronica.

And I feel kinda sorry for Logan too, even though by all rights I shouldn't. It just makes me sad because they were so happy and touchy and lovey-dovey for the whole episode.

The way they tied the Mystery of the Week to Veronica's rape was cleverly done. I was curious how they'd bring the topic back... this is much more clever than having it just pop out in conversation or something.

So... does this mean Logan raped Veronica? I doubt it. I don't think they want us to totally hate him. So I imagine it means either Duncan or someone else slept with Veronica and didn't realize it wasn't consensual, or whoever gave her the drugs raped her. I don't think Logan would have reacted to Veronica the way he has all year if he'd thought they'd had consensual sex or raped her at the party.

There's a good chance it was Duncan, but I think there's too much other stuff surrounding his character for them to add that, too.

I doubt it was Weevil, or Logan's dad, or any of the major characters.

It was probably some random walk-on character. Maybe Logan's blond friend.

On the other stuff...

I don't envy Wallace the conversation he's going to have with his mom. And I feel sorry for his Mom. But it's good, story-wise, to see some of Veronica's antics comming back to haunt her. She may be smart, but she's not perfect.

As someone who doesn't watch VM, I don't know what any of that meant, but I thought I'd let you know that your lj-cut is showing :)

Yeah, they both seemed to want so badly to have something normal and angst-free. I wasn't shocked by the developments, and I'm glad that this seems to mean that Logan won't be any more directly involved in the rape, but I felt badly that they both had to hurt again, especially after seeing them enjoy each other so much.

There's a really excellent essay over on [livejournal.com profile] rat_slaves that you might like. It has some neat things to say about the themes of the series, and reading it gave me hope that Logan's part in Veronica's story isn't over yet.
