I've got my parents set to go see Hitchhiker's Guide this weekend with me. Either Saturday or Sunday, we're going.

My mom doesn't wanna go... she's afraid of disappointment.

This has forced me to fall into the cheerleader role over the last few months. I mean, we can't *both* be the disappointed-before-we-even-get-there one.

So... fuck. Don't disappoint me, movie.

Fucking Peter Jackson. I swear if it were for your damn movies I would never have the kind of expectations I can't help but have. Fuck you Peter Jackson! You ruined book adaptations for me! I'm gonna, like, have EXPECTATIONS and shit! I can't go back to the cynic that I was! I'm ruined! Fuck you!


... Hitchhiker's Guide, please don't disappoint me. I mean, I know you won't be LOTR, but you could at least be kinda cool and funny.

At least I'll have Serenity to fall back on.

But I haven't read the book...err...yet...so what kind of expectations - in relations to the book are you, uh, expecting?

I want it to be cool and funny. I want mentions of 42, the baby whale, Deep Thought, and Marvin to say "this terrible pain down all the diodes on my left arm."

I want Zaphod to be the funniest thing ever and Ford to be cool but kind of useless in a crisis. I want Arthur to be not as cool and even more useless in a crisis. I want the Heart of Gold to make tea (or was that in the second book? Hmmm.) I want the towel thing.

Arthur is definitely not cool and a lot more useless...ish...Ford was weird but cool...Heart of Gold? Deep Thought? Err, I'm not quite sure what you meant by those..

The movie was bizzare. I felt like I was somewhere...uh...crazy...but from what I heard of the book it's supposed to be so yeah, I left the theatre feeling giddy. Marvin positively rocks! I found it ridiculously funny and kinda cool. But my opinion shifts at the moment cause I still don't know what to make of it never having read the books.

The Heart of Gold is the spaceship Zaphod stole when he became president of the galaxy. It's powered by an improbability drive.

Deep Thought is the name of the supercomputer the mice built to give them the answer to the question of life, the Universe, and everything.

Ahahhaa...I knew that. >_< I forgot the space ship name so 'Heart of Gold' was beyond me and Deep Thought as well. Oh yes, they're definitely there. ^^
