I'm all perky now because I got a review this morning on ff.net, for Aftershock Reverberations, my post-NA Spike/Dawn friendship fic.

Top 5 Favorite Disney Animated Movies:

1. The Lion King
2. Lilo & Stitch
3. The Little Mermaid
4. Aladdin
5. Beauty & the Beast

I loved Lilo & Stich. I thought it was wonderful, and the best traditional Disney movie I'd seen since The Lion King. It had witty, intelligent jokes, but the movie wasn't there to make quips. The movie told this wonderful story about a little girl, her struggling sister, and an outcast lookign for a place to belong. And yet in doing that, it had some absolutely HILARIOUS scenes.

The Lion King is still my favorite, because I think its the best animated movie that Disney has done, to date (Toy Story not included in the same category). I think it worked so well and succeed as an update of literature where The Hunchback of Notre Dame failed because it did Hamlet and yet it didn't use humans, it used animals as a metaphor, and they were then able to change it around to make it a story appropriate for yonger audiences, and yet still have it use the same rich story that Shakespeare had written.

I hink, "the present" would have been my next selection. It makes total sense about the 90s though, considering I spent years 5-16 in that decade. Those are the child-to-adult transition years. All my music tastes are derrivitive of the 90s, as are a lot of my opinions & how I was raised and how I see stuff.

oh, yeah, you're in Brittain. I would say you'd have gotten it first, but maybe not because Disney company handled the translation & dubbing of the film, so it was probably released here first. And they did an excellent job, you know. All the actors did wonderfully for the voices, and the original language script was treated respectfully, and not butchered by English translation. The girl who voices for the main character is the same person who voiced Lilo in Lilo & Stitch.
