Personally, I think Dilandau is the nuttiest villain I've seen yet in anime. Closely matched by the villain in Perfect Blue, which I won't give away for those who haven't seen it. Unfortunately, I don't think enough people on my flist have seen Escaflowne, so Dilandau might not win the "most crazy" spot. Still... Dilandau is nuttier than a fruitcake, and I mean fruitcake in multiple ways.

Date: 2005-05-23 11:16 am (UTC)You know, the whole big spoiler with Dilandau still ranks as one of my biggest WTF?! moments in anime. Right up there with what's on the other side of the Gate in FMA. I went around for like two days going "I don't believe it! Dilandau's -- -----!!!"
Gotta love that kind of surprise, especially when it's foreshadowed but you don't quite realize the foreshadowing was foreshadowing until after the fact.
