Lost finale

What? NO! Arnst! I *liked* him dammit! They introduce the one snarky normal guy (Hurley's rich and doesn't count)... and he gets blown up.

Though they already had a rudimentry chemist in Sun, so maybe he was doomed from the start.

Still a Shannon/Sayid shipper.

Aaron. Nice name.

"Really, what do you think's inside?"
"Hope. I think hope's inside."

Honestly. Your name is friggin' *John* *Locke*. You of all people should know there's a whole lot of bad shit that comes out of any container that's got hope inside.

Remember, Mr. Locke-- in terms of mythology and literature, hope is a thing of feathers that's always found smothered under a down pillow of doom and torment.

I still think the bad shit is going to be the black oil from the aliens, by the way. This bunker thing just looks way too much like the one Krycek was locked in on that X Files episode.

I think in a real world situation, they'll never see Walt again and Jin, Sawyer, and Michael might survive if the raft doesn't totally burn, but most likely they'd die. I knew they'd probably run into pirates first. Getting rescued would be too easy.

I think Charlie's assumption that "there are no others" is too rash, considering all the other stuff on the island that can't be explained away by Rousseau. Including Ethan, who was too old to be Rousseau's child Alex. Maybe Ethan was on the heroin airplane?

The thing draggin Locke *sounded* mechanical, but we couldn't see anything. Which is starting to bug me, the fact that we can't *see* anything for sure on this show.

I knew Charlie would be weak and go for the heroin, but I'm glad he didn't get high on it immediately.

I liked the montage at the end, finally showing us all the characters getting on the plane together instead of separately. And it was a nice way to round off the season on a circular, back-to-the-start note. I appreciate the glimpses of Arnst in the airport clips, though it doesn't make up for blowing him up.

EDIT: You know how on The Daily Show, John was congratulating Tony Shaloub (sp?) for being the only Middle Eastern-looking lead guy on tv? Towing the line and all that with his show Monk. John Stewart needs to get in on the Sayid love train. It's a happy, happy train.

Just finished watching, and added a bunch more. The scene of Shannon running to embrace Sayid made me smile. I find them so much more interesting to watch than Jack and Kate. Though Jack is winning me over as an interesting character a little faster than Kate is. Kate could have blown up and Arnst could have stayed, and I would have been happier.

Don't get me started on Sayid. Because of him, my mother has recognized her huge attraction to Middle Eastern/Indian looking men. And I can understand why when watching Sayid, lol.

And I swear to god, if it's aliens, I will never put my faith into another gripping show like this one. I still stand by my theory that it's all a government experiment.

I really thought that Arnst would be a main character next season. And then he blew up. Oh well. Michelle Rodriguez is apparently going to be on the show lots more. I'm still deciding whether that's good or bad.
