Okay, this is weird, but bear with me.



What if the inside of the TARDIS is like The Key from BTVS?

Cause Rose as an avatar-like figure made me think of what I imagined Dawn would be like if she ever got to access any of her trippy Key powers.

And now my head is jumping all OVER the place trying to find a way to make it fit together...

ffutures examines exactly that in his fic Edit. It's also fantastic to read as well. He does the best crossovers of some of the more obscure fandoms.

Actually, I've read that fic. That's not precisely what I'm talking about. I think.

The way I read that fic was that the monks were the ones who did the edit, and the edit was changing the timeline to incorporate Dawn into the world.

What I was speculating on today was what if the TARDIS is like made of the same stuff as the Key was... and what if Dawn is kind of like a human soul-of-the-TARDIS. Or all TARDISes have bits of the Key in them and that's their "soul."

I guess there's the fact that the Key is supposed to be one of a kind... but then again who says that it can't exist in multiple places at once doing multiple things at once? It could be living as Dawn and powering TARDISes across space/time all at once.
