The good thing about tonight is that I have the internet again.

The bad thing about having the internet again is that right now my connection is so slow I might as well not have it all, when it comes to downloading certain things. It seems that my computer is physically too far away from the router, and the wireless connection is always "low", never "good" or "very good."

YSI downloads appear to range from 6 K/sec to 185 K/sec, depending on the link itself. (this compared to the 400-800K rate I was getting on campus) And so far bittorrent clocks in at a shocking........2 K/sec. Yes, that's right, 2. Deux. Dos. Just a bit above nada.

So my big plan for downloading mass things from bittorrent before I move out of my parents house again has apparently been shot down brutally. It's still YSI for me. At least 100ish K/sec is still pretty good. Not wonderful, but fast enough for my purposes.

Could you set up some kind of antenna to try to boost the signal? I don't know what kind of equipment that'd require and how much it would cost (for my Wireless class they had the thing to connect to the computer already), but the antenna by itself could be just a can or something else really cheap. Worth a try, anyway.

It came with a small black attenna that I attached to the back of my computer, but I don't know how to judge how good it is. All I know is that in a whole day of trying, my signal never gets better than "low.
