Finally watched last week's episode of Paranoia Agent, "MHz". If I was confused then, I'm REALLY confused now. Not so much about the whole Lil' Slugger stuff... that doesn't make sense but it has been following a sort of pattern. I'm confused about the detective. What's up with all that equipment in his apartment? Is he broadcasting something that is feeding the paranoia in his listeners, making them more likely targets? What's the importance of the episode title, besides the radio thing?

EDIT: Okay, for all that the stupidity and inaneness of the Adult Swim boards bugs me, it is times like this I am grateful I check them during new shows because sometimes there are actual intelligent posts where someone actually helps explain things. For a show like PA, I need that help. I liked this explanation for the latest episode:

I just caught the rerun too and I've "cracked" the egg thing. The eggs are symbolic of both Maromi's eyes and it's duality. Eyes and eggs both have "whites" and Maromi's eyes are almost exactly the size and shape of the yolks in Maniwa's bowl during the transition where Sagi says: "L'il Slugger was here?" or something to that effect. The "other" Maniwa from the RPG world (I think CQ is the name I'll give him because he talks in the HAM voice) asks Maniwa to take him to the "ancient master." Maniwa and the old fart dine together and Manny asks if that's all they ordered. He is asking if these people are all of Slugger's victims or were there more. The waiter brings Maria. (the black swallowtail) Then the old man reveals Maromi's/Slugger's secrets in magic show format. He shows Maniwa that L'il Slugger is not a corporeal being by passing through a wall and he shows that Maromi/Slugger can be anywhere at once. What terrifies Maniwa is seeing that Maromi/Slugger can appear to everyone (all the "audience" of the real world) at once. The old man works equations and seems to understand logic which may make him the counterforce to Slugger's irrational fear and paranoia. Also, MHz (the ep title) is a measure of frequency. Frequency because of the HAM radio obviously, but also maybe a clue that the frequency of the assaults will begin to rise soon to reflect the scene of the audience becoming engulfed by the old man's image. MegaHertZ = Greater frequency.
