When people tell me they haven't watched or read Naruto, I want to tell them to watch the Ninja of the Night video, because it's awesome and hilarious and the best possible advertisement for the series.

But then I second guess myself and wonder if it's only as hilarious as it is if you've already watched some of the episodes, in which case it would do no good for advertisement/recruitment purposes.

What do you think?

Read through chapter 3 (introduction of Sasuke), then watch the video. Scooore!

Yes. I was thinking about that. The video wouldn't be nearly as funny if you didn't know Sasuke's character a little before hand, so you can contrast it to the whacky stuff coming out of his mouth in the video.

Naruto, on the other hand, would most definitely hang upside down at a party and jump on roofs to get free cable.

I think that if people based their decision on watching Naruto or not on that, they may think we have mental issues *winks*

But having read through to the...now, it's hilarious.

Now...you must tell me where to get Naruto! I've read through it, now I need to see it! And I know you are the one to help with that. Teach me wise one.

If you have access cable, it's supposed to be on television this fall, in dub. Toonami or Adult Swim, one of them. I haven't kept up with that, though.

I will keep an eye out for it, but if it's on toonami, I might just pass altogether seeing what they did to Yu Yu Hakasho(sp?) back when they moved it from AS to Toonami. One episode made absolutely no sense after it was edited down.

This may be disregarded, but I just couldn't get into Naruto. My fellow anime buff friend introduced it to me... I watched the first two episodes, and then skipped to some episode in the middle. I was just put off by the annoying, whiny character of Naruto himself, as well as the rather crap animation that was featured.

Maybe I need to read the manga in order to appreciate it? Because a lot of people to be enjoying it.

I did, however, get REALLY into Monster. My friend and I downloaded quite a few episodes, and right now I'm somewhere in the 20s. I just think it's this amazing piece of work... and an excellent transition piece for those who aren't really into anime. It's probably one of the more realistic shows I've seen. So thank you for the recommendation.

Monster became my favorite anime. I had episodes up to 53 (the anime ends at 78), I couldn't wait for the stuff to be released, so I found the manga online, DL'd it and finished the series out. Absolutely fantastic. I can't wait until it's licensed, so I can intro my friends who don't DL anime to it. I'm constantly chattering about how incredible it is.

My girl [livejournal.com profile] flutingfrenzy bought all of "Monster" in German (apropos, no? she studied abroad there this semester) and raves about it. Can't wait til I get my CDs back so I can watch it.

Con some out of Rashaka. She has up to 53. :D I was trying to upload it for her, but stupid YSI and whatnot refused to work with me and a file that big. I managed to get, what, one through?

That reminds me, Rashaka, did you want me to send you any other episodes? I have the next five, up to 58.

Don't feel guilty. Are you at a new address, since you left school? Like I have the one you gave me still anyway ...
