I flail ALL THE TIME for Princess Tutu. As soon as someone new watches it (most recently: memlu) I then go to their journal and flail at them and then we flail and squeal together and, well, there's lots of flailing. Flailing about episodes... flailing about ships...

THIS SHOW IS SO MANIPULATIVE I SWORE I'D NEVER LIKE THAT JERK AND YET-

Fakir? I know. I loved him a little (or at least found him interesting) when he clapped alone for Ahiru/Rue's first dance, and I thought "Wouldn't it be interesting if instead of falling for the default pretty boy bish she fell for the unimpressive and insecure brat that's over there snarling from the corner of the screen?" ---but then there was the controlling, the stalking, the obsessing, the confinement to quarters, and the general scaryness of his behavior--- but then the story kept unfolding and there's always something about them you didn't realize and suddenly he's more and she's more and even though they're not the princess and the princess -- real, not imagined, average, not magical-- in a way they are. And always will be. He can't be Mytho's knight but he can be her knight, and she can't be the princess but she can be Ahiru, and Ahiru is his princess in the end, and... GUH. SEE. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE MENTIONS TUTU. THERE'S FLAILING AND TALKING AND I CAN'T STOP GUSHING.


Besides, it wasn’t "once upon a time," it was fucking last semester.

FAKIR BUT OF COURSE.

I should've been specific and called him "that-poofy-haired-jerk", which is still what I call him in my head. Only now it's affectionate instead of murderous, you see? It's pretty good if you managed to see potential early on; I think I was mad at him from halfway into the first episode all the way to episode 11. (Twelve being the Fakir/Ahiru episode.)

Can I tell you a sad story? I leant my Princess Tutu CD to my brother AND NOW IT DOESN'T PLAY ANYMORE so whenever I say anything about PT it's from memory (I've only seen it once). But it's such an unforgettable series.
