I'm a sucker for "String Tribute" and "orchestral" versions of songs.

You know, where some orchestra or musical group takes a popular pop/rock song and remakes it with string instruments or a full-blown orchestra.

I love those. I totally absolutely love them.

I have (or had at least, I haven't consolidated my music yet post-computer crash) the entire first OST of Inuyasha in this orchestral version. A friend of mine used to have an entire CD of Coldplay songs done this way too.

I just watched a Trigun AMV with a "string tribute" version of "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes.*

God I love this stuff. Wish I had more of it.

* Although the video was decent, I have to admit I wish it was an FMA vid. Because Edward Elric owns "Seven Nation Army." That has been his character song in my head since I started FMA. It's so....ack. I can't describe it. Listen to the song and think about Edward and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Ooh, the Inuyasha Wind CD ... I have that. (Or at least a bootleg copy.) I used to listen to it at work all the damn time, because it sounded classy enough to get away with it. If you don't find another copy, let me know, I'll rip the CD.

I love those too. That's why me and the London Philharmonic Orhcestra and the London Pops are so close - they do so many covers. :)

I have the Inuyasha Wind CD, too...it's gorgeous. There are a couple of similar tracks on other Inuyasha OSTs. No the "Homage to Inuyasha" solo piano song does not make me cry shut up

Looking at my music collection:
U2 - One (Best Live Acoustic Ever) [It's the file name, and it's true. U2 live in concert with the audience singing along and violins swelling in the background.]
Nickel Creek - I Am Trying To Break Your Heart [Nickel Creek live Wilco cover with fiddle, banjo, violin. More bluegrass than orchestra, but lovely.]

God, I can't even listen to the original "One" and "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" anymore, these versions have affected me so deeply.

o.O You mock me me with your monkey pants. I want monkey pants. ::doe eyes::

[[side note: FMA dub. Wrath. I swear to god he's the same voice as dub Ahiru. I can't tell you what that's doing to my mental state.]]

The Wind CD is too big to upload onto my server...let me know if you don't find it amid your consolidated music, and I'll send it to you on YSI.

Inuyasha's Poem - Instrumental

U2 - One (Best Live Acoustic Ever)
Nickel Creek - I Am Trying To Break Your Heart

[[HE DOES, I swear. I've been thinking that too. Don't be scary and evil, Wrath/Ahiru! I forgot that the reason I haven't rewatched these episodes is because they hurt too much.]]

Shiny!

::nabs:: Thank you.

You know, when I save music vids I label them with things like "(best ever)" and "(funniest ever)". Fanfic too.

That's the original name of the MP3 as I've seen it on filesharing services...I don't know where it came from originally.
