Naruto episode 7 dub (still downloading episodes 3 and 6)

Okay, for some reason Kakashi's voice is really working for me now. In fact, I like it quite a bit when he's doing his serious battle voice.

On the downside, I'd forgotten the long pauses in some of these earlier episodes, and how weird the pacing was. I remember now that I had lots of pacing complaints with the first two seasons. How it would be sloooow and then really really fast.

Also, I can't escape the fact that some of the inherent youthful cheesiness of Naruto dialogue seems more obvious when said aloud in my native language. I admit to a wee bit of cringing. On the other hand, it's going to be getting better quickly, especially once Haku appears.

The bridge battle with Haku is my favorite part of the first arc, and the second and third arcs of the chunin exam through the Sand-Sound war are my favorite arcs. I'd like to just skip ahead to those, actually.

::giggle::

The heavily accented way they say "Sharingan" is cracking me up more than is really warranted, I think.

I had NO IDEA how often Naruto said "Believe it!" until I watched the dubs. (I'm still in the twenties, sadly.) It's kind of a little painful.

But I am still filled with love!

I'd forgotten he said "believe it" all the time too. He definitely drops that later, cause I can't remember the last time he said that in the sub.

Still in the twenties? You are behind! And the next two arcs are my favorite for the series! Of the 150ish episodes I've seen in total (it's still going), episodes 26ish through 80 are my favorites. So much kickassness. Hurry, hurry! It's all love, I tell you. Your bottom lip will wobble for babyninja angst.

God I hope he drop the "Believe it!" thing, though he does refer to being 'acknowledged' quite a bit. Which is understandable, but still. I think I need to watch more of the dubs, or something. I've only seen a couple eps on CN thus far. It'd be nice to actually make out what's going on in some of the later fighting scenes.

Their voices are kinda crazy. Again, from only having read Naruto, it's hard not to give them your own voices and be disappointed when they sound...childish. I mean, they are children but something about Naruto is way to immature. Once more, that's the point but Sasuke doesn't sound like a kid. Plus Hinata...I'll stop.

Sorry I have to get all my Naruto thoughts out with you since no one else will share with me. Feel free to smack me if none of what I said just now made sense.

Hinata? You mean in the subs? Or her one line in the third episode (I'm downloading it now.)

I recommend the subs... Sasuke still doesn't sound like a kid, but you get used to it. And I adore Naruto's sub voice. His English voice is alright for now, but I think that when you have older people doing very young characters in what's not their normal voice there's a built-in limitation to what they can do. Ed Elric's English VA, for example, can't scream believably. He can shout, but he can't scream. Pity.

sorry for the late reply

I suppose I never thought of it in the "Well they are adults playing kids" sense. I suppose there are limitations.

I'll wait it out and get used to them :)
