Gun x Sword #1

1 minute, 50 seconds:
-Okay, he kind of looks like Roland. Except for the hat (too big), he's got the right face shape and coloring and kind of similaar cowboy/gunmen thing going on. (Though his eyes aren't blue like Roland's)
-But he definitely isn't Roland. If Roland walked into the building and someone was shot in from of him then the shooter pointed a gun at him, Roland wouldn't duck and hold up his hands. Roland would have already drawn his guns and killed all three. Because Roland doesn't fuck around when people point weapons at him.
-Hm. Actually, Van reminds me of Vash but he looks like Spike Spiegel.

This looks like just a total Trigun knock-off, with bits of S-CRY-ed.

Hm. I like some of the music, and some I don't. It's kind of mismatched and random.

Mecha?! Dude. Nobody told me this was a mecha anime! I don't do mecha anime. There's only two mecha series in the ENTIRETY of anime that I can honestly claim to really like: Escaflowne and Gundam Wing. Most mecha I will happily avoid. (though I did promise to try SEED later...

But okay, okay. I'll watch a little more because of the ringing endorcement, [livejournal.com profile] donna_c_punk. And because you promised to finish Furuba. But dude, MECHA? WTF.

edit: the whole "be your bride" thing is annoying. it's humor based on hentai pedophilia fantasy to excite repressed psychotic pedo fanboys. it's not something I find amusing, or cute, and frankly it's the kind of thing that usually causes me to turn off a show on the spot, regardless of other good qualities it might have.

Overview: An okay first episode. Didn't knock my pants off and had some definitely annoying qualities, but had bits of potential there too. If all the annoying bits went away and there was a really cool plot, this could be a fun series. I'll give it a few more episodes to find out. Heck, I've already downloaded them anyway.

Cute. Funny. Funniest if you've ever been to anime conventions and hung around guys for any length of time while you're there.

I wish the anime club on my campus were as interesting as this. Ours is really boring-- you just show up, watch stuff in a theater-like room, and leave. There's almost no social aspect to it. Not worth the 20 bucks to join. Well, that was last year. I'm predicting there's been no spontaneous revolution in fun since then.

I won't take it personally if you don't watch all of it, or even like it. We share interests (CB, FMA, Trigun) and some are decidely DIFFERENT (Victorian Romance Emma). I'm not into the mecha stuff, either, but I'm having fun with it.

Are the constant offers to be his bride going to stop any time soon?

She pretty much knocks that off after the second episode. I actually like Wendy a lot. I didn't think I was after the first ep.

That's encouraging, actually.

She doesn't turn into a kick-ass super fighter, but considering her age, her history and her goal, it makes sense. Usually, I'd find a 12 year old tagging along after a guy like Van annoying. She's similar to Fuu, but not annoying. Yes, I fully admit - even though Fuu is my favorite SC character - she was annoying at points. Extremely, too.

Well, I know you wouldn't take it personally. :) But I haven't totally written it off just yet. As first episodes go it was a medium-- I've seen better but I've also seen much worse. The mecha thing just took me by surprise.

I thought I warned about that? Maybe I didn't. Hell, I don't know what put in my Journal posts half the time these days. After episode 7, I'm interested in the overall storyline, about the Claw Man and his master plan.

Your campus's anime club costs money? There's something inherently wrong with that. D< Ours was free to attend, but if you wanted to check out materials from the library or get in to events free there was a membership fee. (Like five bucks, I don't remember.)

Never seen either of the two shows, want to.

It's 8 bucks a quarter (20 for the year) if you want to check out materials. It's free to attend actual meetings.

But it kinda sucks, because the meetings were just viewings; everyone would arrive, watch stuff, and leave. No real social aspect-- or what social aspect there was seemed almost impossible to pinpoint and break into.
